"Direct Draw" looks much too fuzzy to me, but there is probably no solution except get a better computer. Today I finally got it working by changing all configuration files, not just one. I knew I needed to switch to "Direct Draw", but every time I tried to switch, it would switch back. I knew this was because newer MAME versions required "Direct 3D" beyond what my computer would display. I could never get any MAME / MESS version after 148 to work on my computer there would just be a blank screen.

> Every single game from PC Engine library works just fine in this emulator, so - noĮvery so often you need to support stuff new technologies, like XInput. (I am not a fan of "this kind" of games - they are all some kind of pron !) MagicEngineFX also works pretty well - I've tried a few games and all of them works 100%. > Wow MagicEngine hasn't been updated in ages.Įvery single game from PC Engine library works just fine in this emulator, so - no need of updating !? It's awesome emulator and runs this system very well. and Brazilįor PC-FX emulation, take a look at Magic-Engine FX. Windows 11 Home 64-bit / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core 3.59 GHz / RAM 16 GB Wow MagicEngine hasn't been updated in ages. I don't have any PC-FX disc image so I can't test them myself.ĮDIT: I just realized "anything" here means "any MESS version". At least XE (quite old, last version was 2009) and Mednafen (which is still in development). PC-FX isn't playable on anything, but PlayStation is quite playable on current and recent including multiple controller types and memory cards, and Dreamcast will boot a fair number of games (slowly, you've seen Naomi in MAME).īut I've seen screenshots of that console on three different emulators. (In MESS land, anything over 2 weeks old is probably missing exciting progress). > Should I be using another version of MESS, or did these systems never work in any

Should I be using another version of MESS, or did these systems never work in any MESS version.

PC-FX looks rough, and probably doesn't work, but I thought that Playstation and Dreamcast were working in MESS. In MESS 148, Dreamcast, Playstation, and PC-FX drivers look like they work, but the controls don't respond. The timestamp is only as accurate as the clock in the camera, and it may be completely wrong.MESS version that can run DC, PS1, and PC-FX? If the file has been modified from its original state, some details such as the timestamp may not fully reflect those of the original file.
